KERRVILLE – Roy Kent is the new managing editor at the Kerrville Daily Times.

The appointment was announced by Publisher Jennifer McCullough, who said Kent’s experience will be an asset to the local newspaper and the community it serves.

HOUSTON – Pulitzer Prize-winning veteran editor Kelly Ann Scott is the new executive editor for the Houston Chronicle.

Wharton Journal-Spectator

WHARTON – Sam Scinta Jr. is the new managing editor of the Wharton Journal-Spectator.

Scinta came to the Journal-Spectator after serving as sports editor at the Fort Bend Herald in Rosenberg. At the Herald, he directed coverage of Lamar CISD and Needville ISD athletics, producing game review and feature stories.

MOUNT PLEASANT – Miranda Oglesby has been named the general manager for the Mount Pleasant Tribune, The Pittsburg Gazette and The Daingerfield Steel Country Bee.

Oglesby joined the Mount Pleasant Tribune as a reporter and page designer in 2018. She became the paper’s managing editor in 2019.

VICTORIA – Clarice Touhey, most recently publisher of two North Dakota newspapers, has been named general manager of the Victoria Advocate.

Touhey brings decades of experience with her to Victoria, including leadership roles at some of the nation’s largest news organizations.
