Branson assumes duties as publisher for Boerne Star, Bandera Bulletin

BOERNE - Marcy Branson is the new area publisher for the Boerne Star and Bandera Bulletin.

The announcement was made by officials at Granite Media Partners Inc., owner of both publications.

Granite Media officials said Branson, a 27-year veteran in news, sales and advertising organizations, brings a unique type of energy to the Hill Country Group, as well as decades of experience.

“Marcy is the perfect publisher to oversee the Boerne Star and Bandera Bulletin. She is a thorough manager, a veteran newspaper salesperson, very experienced with community publications and a great team leader,” said Thomas Edwards, executive editor for Granite.

Branson comes to Granite Media from a five-year stint as business development advisor with Ad Solutions. 

Previously, she was owner-publisher of SAFreedomsaver.com, publisher-general manager for Victory Publishing, publisher-general sales manager for Prime Time Newspapers Inc., and director of advertising-marketing for Red McCombs Enterprises.

“I’ve known Marcy for more than 25 years, going back to our shared experiences with newspapers in San Antonio, and I can’t think of anyone better than her for this very demanding job,” Edwards said.
