The 2020 Texas Press Association Convention and Trade Show in Galveston Jan. 16-18 will be a mega event celebrating the organization’s 140th year.
Moody Gardens Hotel, Convention Center and Spa in Galveston is headquarters for the event.

Texas Press Association is among the state associations encouraging members to support the "Think F1rst" public awareness campaign about the First Amendment to the U.S. Constitution.
Originally developed by Media of Nebraska, the campaign launched nationwide Aug.1. 

It’s time for Texas Press Association members to begin reviewing work published over the past year and a half in preparation for the 2018-19 Texas Better Newspaper Contest.

WACO – The Texas Sports Hall of Fame is honoring the first media representatives selected for induction since 2004.
The group of new honorees include: 
• John McClain, a Houston Chronicle sportswriter who has been a longtime contributor to radio sports talk shows on KTRH (740 AM) and KILT (610 AM) and regularly appears on other stations throughout the country
