The Newspaper Association Managers’ Relevance Project has released Revenue Resource 2020 to assist newspapers in aiding businesses of all kinds as the economy emerges from the COVID-19 pandemic. 
“Our goal is to keep expanding this new resource,” said Steve Nixon, NAM president.

Nov. 16 is the deadline for the 2021 Lone Star Journalism Writing Contest, co-sponsored by Texas Press Association and the Interscholastic League Press Conference. 
Through the annual contest, participating students write general-interest features for publication in their hometown newspapers. Cash prizes will be awarded. 

SEALY – Susan Rovegno began serving The Sealy News and the Katy Times as their new publisher on Aug. 24.
She holds a bachelor of arts in mass communication from Abilene Christian University and a masters in journalism from The University of Texas at Austin.

LUFKIN—LK Media Group has named Jackie Zimmerman as publisher of all its newspapers, including the Red River Sun, The Floyd County Hesperian-Beacon, the Knox County News-Courier and the Post Dispatch, replacing Bruce Green.

KAUFMAN – Amy Fowler, who has worked for The Kaufman Herald since 2011, is the new publisher of the weekly newspaper.
Melanie Mazur, who joined the Herald staff a year ago as publisher, announced the appointment and added that she will remain on the Kaufman Herald staff as managing editor.
Fowler started in advertising sales and became the publication’s advertising director.
