Rita Hamilton appointed publisher of Clifton Record, Meridian Tribune

CLIFTON – Rita Hamilton has returned to Texas as publisher of the Clifton Record and Meridian Tribune.
Hamilton started her career in January 1994 as an administrative assistant to a publisher at a Gannett paper in Chambersburg, Pennsylvania. She was with Gannett almost 18 years, serving in Shreveport  and Alexandria, Louisiana. Later, she moved to Texas and worked at the Greenville and Huntsville papers as part of CNHI. From there she moved to Middlesboro, Kentucky, where she led two papers in Kentucky and one in Tennessee.
In a column to Bosque County readers, Hamilton noted she most recently worked in El Dorado, Arkansas, which led to her accepting the opportunity in Clifton, a move that brought her closer to her children and grandchildren who reside in Fort Worth and Shreveport.
“On a business level, my goal has always been to provide news and information that is relevant and unbiased,” Hamilton wrote. “It also includes celebrating the many good things and good people in our communities. It is also important that we provide a viable vehicle for our local businesses to advertise their goods and services.”
