AUSTIN – Retired TPA periodicals consultant Harley Hitchcock, 84, died Dec. 19.

The North and East Texas Press Association, in conjunction with the Texas Press Association, will award two $1,500 scholarships to eligible candidates. Applications are accepted now through March 25. High school seniors and current college journalism majors may apply.
The scholarships are payable to the registrar of the college/university upon proof of enrollment as a full-time student.

Texas Press Association has entered an agreement with Digiversity.tv to co-sponsor the subscription fee for employees of member newspapers to access training sessions on publishing tools.

As 2021 draws to a close, it’s time to start considering entries for the next Texas Better Newspaper Contest, which opens for entries Feb. 1.
As part of the transition to an annual summer convention, the 2020-21 contest covers the period from Sept. 1, 2020, through Dec. 31, 2021.
