AUSTIN – Plans are underway to make the 2022 silent auction benefiting the Texas Newspaper Foundation a unique shopping experience.
The auction is part of the annual TPA Convention & Trade Show, scheduled July 28 - 30 at the Embassy Suites by Hilton San Marcos Hotel Conference Center & Spa.

The 2022 Robert Burns Memorial Golf Classic benefiting the Texas Newspaper Foundation will kick off the annual TPA Convention and Trade Show July 28-30.
Tournament tee time is 8 a.m. Thursday, July 28, at The Bandit Golf Club near New Braunfels.

TPA member volunteers are needed  to judge entries in the West Virginia Press Association contest.
The WVPA contest entry period is still under way with judging scheduled in May.
Annual contests are made possible with the help of other press associations across the country, which participate in a contest swap to judge one another’s competitions.

The Alvin Sun and Advertiser was awarded the Lifetime Achievement Award during the annual Alvin-Manvel Chamber of Commerce awards banquet in February.
The newspaper was honored in the category of a business that has been serving the community for more than 130 years. Managing Editor Kathleen Holton accepted the award.
