BOERNE - Marcy Branson is the new area publisher for the Boerne Star and Bandera Bulletin.

The announcement was made by officials at Granite Media Partners Inc., owner of both publications.

Texas Press Association is a collaborator for the next Freedom of Information Foundation of Texas Open Government Seminar scheduled in College Station on Thursday, June 20.
The seminar, which is free and open to the public, will take place from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. at the Hilton College Station, 801 University Drive East, where the TPA Convention and Trade Show opens the same day.

AUSTIN — Four newspaper legends will be inducted into the Texas Newspaper Hall of Fame on June 21 during the Texas Press Association convention in College Station.

COLLEGE STATION — Michael Martin Murphey will showcase his legendary musical skills in an exclusive appearance for Texas Press Association members during the June 20-22 TPA Convention and Trade Show in College Station. Murphey’s performance will highlight a barbecue dinner for TPA members on the evening of Friday, June 21, at the Lucky B Bison Ranch.

AUSTIN — In 2020, a Texas federal court ruled that certain provisions of the Texas drone law violated the First Amendment because they restricted the right to gather news. This freed Texas journalists from concerns that their conduct would be subject to civil and criminal penalties under unclear provisions of the state’s drone law enacted in 2013.
