There have been management changes at several publications owned by MediaOne, LLC.
Taking on new duties for the Monitor in Mabank, The Kerens Tribune and The News Serving Athens and Malakoff are Stephanie Evans, general manager; Denise York, managing editor; and Janice Grubbs-Vincik, director of sales.
John Buzzetta, president of MediaOne, LLC, announced the changes.
Susan Harrison, who had been general manager for the publications for 19 years, moved away from the area. Buzzetta said Harrison will continue working with the company as director of employee relations.

LLANO – Megan Ables is the new editor of the Llano News.
The Tarleton State University graduate joined the newspaper staff in early March.

Lillian Cannon
Lillian Cannon, 91, died Nov. 17, 2008, in Presbyterian Hospital in Dallas after complication from surgery.
She began writing a column for the Quinlan Tawakoni News when the publication first started in 1963. She also worked for the Quinlan Post for 30 years.

Clarence Gentry
Clarence Henry "Scoop" Gentry, 93, died Jan. 3, 2009, of complications from Alzheimer's disease at Grand Prairie Healthcare Center.
Gentry was a pioneering black journalist. In 1948, he was one of the first black reporters in Jim Wells County.
He wrote for the Dallas Express, Dallas Post Tribune and Houston Informer and worked for 60 years in newspapers. He delivered The Dallas Morning News and Dallas Times Herald in his youth.
The Robert Burns Memorial Golf Tournament, sponsored by CenturyLink, is set June 20 in Fredericksburg.
