KERRVILLE – Award winners were toasted and at least one recipient was roasted at the 92nd annual South Texas Press Association meeting at the YO Ranch Hotel in Kerrville.
The convention featured educational seminars, business meetings and presentation of the 2018 STPA Better Newspaper Contest awards and other recognitions. 

AUSTIN _ The Freedom of Information Foundation of Texas is hosting an Open Government Seminar in San Antonio on Tuesday, June 19, 2018, featuring training in public meeting and public records laws. The First Amendment Institute later that day will instruct journalists on press rights.

The 19th Annual Robert Burns Classic Golf Tournament benefiting the Texas Newspaper Foundation opens the 2018 TPA Summer Leadership Retreat in Montgomery.
The final TPA Summer Retreat is scheduled June 21-23 at LaTorretta Lake Resort and Spa on Lake Conroe in Montgomery.

The late Jim Hudson of Perryton, former Panhandle Press Association and Texas Press Association president, and the late Ron Carr, former Friona publisher, were inducted into the Panhandle Press Association Hall of Fame during the group’s 108th annual convention held in Childress.
