The Texas Newspaper Hall of Fame grew to 64 outstanding Texas newspaper professionals with the induction of the 2023 Class of Honorees: Dave Campbell, Suzanne Bardwell and Larry Jackson.

Induction ceremonies were held at the recent TPA Convention and Trade Show.

VICTORIA – Clarice Touhey, most recently publisher of two North Dakota newspapers, has been named general manager of the Victoria Advocate.

KAREN GAIL McCRARY

LULING – Karen Gail McCrary, longtime writer, photographer and former editor and publisher of the Luling Newsboy and Signal, died June 14. She was 69.

TPA honored four newspaper industry veterans with the Golden 50 Award during the recent TPA Convention and Trade Show.

The award honors men and women who have displayed exemplary service and selfless contributions to journalism for 50 or more years. The association presented the first Golden 50 Award in 1963 and over the past 60 years, more than 200 men and women have been honored.
