Time to sign up for TCCJ Revenue Conference

Time to register for "Revenue Strategies: Tactics What Work for Texas Community Newspapers," a one-day conference June 21 at the Hangar Hotel in Fredericksburg.
The event is jointly sponsored by the Texas Center for Community Journalism and the Texas Press Association.
TCCJ Director Tommy Thomason said the workshop is also free, "thanks to the generosity and vision of the Texas Newspaper Foundation."
The program runs from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Friday, June 21, with free lunch served. Participants may also opt to come a day early and play in the Robert Burns Memorial Golf Tournament from 2 to 4 p.m. Thursday, June 20, at the Lady Bird Golf Course in Fredericksburg. Sponsored by CenturyLink, the tournament benefits the Texas Newspaper Foundation in its mission to provide mid-career training for Texas journalists.
Described by Thomason as a "dream team," the list of speakers includes:
• Ryan Dohrn, who’s fast becoming one of the most popular presenters we’ve ever had at the Center.  Ryan’s fast-paced workshops are an idea-a-minute experience that will leave you excited about implementing strategies you haven’t tried before.
• Jake Batsell of SMU, who literally wrote the book on news engagement. Jake will show you how to engage with your audience and how to make that engagement pay off for your bottom line.
• Mike and Debbie Anders, newspaper consultants from Kentucky who help small-town newspaper publishers with a variety of business strategies. Their task at the Fredericksburg conference is to give you as many different take-it-home-and-use-it ideas as they can get into their workshop.
