Teresa Phillips takes over as publisher for Phillips Publishing

HEARNE – Teresa Phillips has taken over as publisher of the Robertson County News and the Franklin Advocate, succeeding her husband, Dennis, who noted he is taking on a smaller role as managing editor.
The couple formed Phillips Publishing, LLC, in late 2020 when they acquired the two Robertson County newspapers from Moser Community Media. At that time, Dennis Phillips had been publisher and Teresa Phillips had been associate publisher since 2012.
The couple has worked together since they met in 1999 while working together at the Highlander in Marble Falls. Dennis Phillips noted Teresa has built her own career as one of the top ad sales reps in the state.
“She knows every aspect of the community news business, and her ability to work with the community makes her an outstanding fit for this new role,” Dennis Phillips wrote in the announcement published July 8.
As managing editor, Dennis Phillips said he will focus on the content of both newspapers while generating content for the Advocate.
