The Sealy News, Katy Times welcome Rovegno as new publisher

SEALY – Susan Rovegno began serving The Sealy News and the Katy Times as their new publisher on Aug. 24.
She holds a bachelor of arts in mass communication from Abilene Christian University and a masters in journalism from The University of Texas at Austin.
She began her newspaper career at The Houston Post, where she worked in distribution, audience development and both retail and classified ad sales. From there she moved to USA TODAY where she worked for 12 years, moving her family to Phoenix, Ariz. She remained with Gannett, parent company of USA TODAY, for eight more years with assignments in White Plains, NY, and Salem, Ore. When she returned to Texas, she worked in Victoria and then in Houston, where she has worked for Houston Community Newspapers, a division of the Houston Chronicle, and Community Impact.
She and her husband live in Katy.
“As Katy and Houston continue to expand westward, there is a lot of exciting news on the horizon for our area,” Rovegno said. “Sealy is definitely the place to be right now. There are challenges to be sure, but nothing that we Texans cannot overcome.”
