Hunter Buffington, Executive Director of the Hemp Feed Coalition joins other experts for the Texas Hemp Growers Association Field Day in August.

The Texas Hemp Growers Association (THGA) will be hosting the 2021 Texas Hemp Row-Crop Field Day at the Bingham Vineyards and Winery 3:00 pm-8:00 pm, Thursday, August 26th, at Bingham Vineyards and Winery, 645 HWY 303 Meadow, Texas.

August 10th, 2021, Lubbock TX

Texas Hemp Growers Association, THGA is proud to have partnered with the Hemp Feed Coalition and its members to support farmers and researchers developing the burgeoning Texas hemp industry. These partnerships have crossed state lines from Colorado into Texas including; Tarleton University rabbit research and the launching of a swine trial at Texas A&M using hempseed meal donated by Monte Roberts at San Luis Valley Hemp Company (SLV Hemp).

As one of the Nation's oldest Hemp companies, SLV Hemp has been researching and developing Hemp as food and feed since 2014. SLV Hemp is proud to support the mission of The Hemp Feed Coalition to gain Federal approval for hemp and its byproducts. Their efforts will give hemp producers and processors access to the billion-dollar animal feed and supplements market.

"We are honored and excited to be the processor for the Tarleton and Texas A&M Hemp feed animal studies and look forward to supporting other studies very soon," said Monte Robertson, owner of San Luis Valley Hemp Company, SLV Hemp.

In addition to research trials, THGA relied on the expertise of the Hemp Feed Coalition and the Texas Hemp Industries Association’s Coleman Hemphill to draft policy relating to hemp animal feed for Texas. Creating a regulator pathway in Texas would provide consumer protections and expand markets for hemp grain. THGA is grateful for knowledgeable partners that understand the immediate needs during this season of extreme drought. With its high nutritional qualities, this readily available resource could help reduce the number of times ranchers are forced to cull their herds due to lack of adequate feed.

The THGA Hemp Row Crop Field Day is free for farmers, agribusinesses, and ag educators and will provide educational content about the benefits of growing hemp. In addition, Association will be hosting Hunter Buffington, Executive Director of the Hemp Feed Coalition, who will provide education specific to the animal feed industry and farmers looking to supply that market. Buffington is excited to be in Texas. “This event will bring experts from the hemp, agriculture and animal industries together. Including experienced Texas, Colorado, and Kentucky hemp row crop farmers who will be on hand to lead hemp field tours and answer questions.

Set aside a few hours for all this, plus a processing tour, wine tasting, ag vendors, food trucks, live music, hemp vodka, and beer tastings. For more information and to register for this exciting event, please visit us at: www.isupporthemp.com
