AUSTIN, TEXAS -- April 18, 2021 – Austin Comedy Film Festival (ACFF), the leading multi-day event for comedy filmmakers, screenwriters, and viewers alike to celebrate and showcase this celebrated art form, is a featured festival under the Film Festival Circuit event program. After pivoting to a handful of virtual events due to the COVID-19 Pandemic, the Austin Comedy Film Festival is excited to announce their three-day, in-person event programing from May 14 – 16, 2021.
The Austin Comedy Film Festival provides a platform for filmmakers to screen their short films to a specialized audience who love the art of comedy. With over 12 hours of films scheduled, every flavor of comedy is featured from romantic comedy, dark comedy, mockumentaries to comedy series pilots. The ACFF judges have hand-selected films that will have the audience members LOLing with this year’s engaging and fast-paced program.
ACFF has partnered with Doc’s Drive-in Theatre to provide a memorable experience for attendees. Included with the ticket price are delicious homemade barbeque sandwiches, unlimited popcorn, soft drinks, alcoholic drinks available for purchase, and ACFF paparazzi on-site to capture the excitement of returning to the theaters. Photos will be available for free download after the event.
In conjunction with the film screenings, ACFF is hosting a Live Screenplay Reading session on Sunday, May 16, 2021, at the Alamo Drafthouse Cinema Lakeline. ACFF matched selected screenwriters with actors in the Austin area to perfect their one scene for the live reading.

About the Austin Comedy Film Festival
The Austin Comedy Film Festival (ACFF) is a bi-annual event included in the Film Festival Circuit partnership of live film festivals. The ACFF allows for comedy filmmakers and screenwriters from all over the world to showcase their creative works in Texas. The ACFF judges are searching for fresh, funny, and engaging films to entertain a comedy loving audience. Originally named the Austin Comedy Short Film Festival, the ACFF was founded by author and retired filmmaker Mikel Fair. Mikel founded the ACFF after his own experiences of awkward festival programing with short films often being placed as a time filler between two feature-length films, regardless of their genre. After taking note of the audience's discomfort in going from a high art feature to a spoof commercial short, ACFF was created.
