Nominations sought for Texas Newspaper Hall of Fame, TPA awards

Nominations are sought for the 2020 Texas Newspaper Hall of Fame as well as TPA's annual awards, the Golden 50 Award, the Mayborn Award and the Hartman Award for Excellence in Sports Writing.
The Texas Newspaper Hall of Fame exists to honor dedicated Texas professionals who made a difference in their local communities, raised journalistic standards – set the bar high - then encouraged and inspired others. Each year, up to four of these leaders are honored at the Hall of Fame Induction dinner held during the Texas Press  Midwinter Conference and Trade Show.
If you have a hero, a mentor whose influence helped shape your career, please consider nominating him or her for induction in the 2020 class. The selection committee is accepting nominations through Oct. 15 for the class to be honored at the induction ceremony Jan. 17, 2020 at the Moody Gardens Hotel in Galveston.
The nomination form, including qualifications, can be downloaded from Texas Newspaper Foundation website, click here.

• The Frank W. Mayborn Award for Community Leadership, awarded annually to a publisher or newspaper executive who contributed most significantly to the industry and his or her community over the past year.
