Cooper named publisher of Mount Pleasant Tribune

MOUNT PEASANT – Tony Cooper is the new publisher of the Mount Pleasant Tribune, succeeding Mark Henry.
As publisher, Cooper also oversees operations at the Pittsburg Gazette and the Steel Country Bee in Daingerfield.
The three newspapers are part of the Northeast Texas Publishing Group.
Originally from Baton Rouge, Louisiana, Cooper is a graduate of the University of Southern Mississippi.
He spent the past nine years in advertising and management, most recently with the Democrat-Gazette in Little Rock, Arkansas.
His newspaper experience includes multiple management positions as well as ownership of his own community paper.
“I feel like Tony will be an asset immediately to the newspaper and community,” said Henry, a partner in the Northeast Texas Publishing Group. Cooper is stepping away from the day-to-day editor/publisher role.
“We will continue to provide our readers with great local coverage, our advertisers a higher than average return on their investment, all the while being a great partner with our beautiful city,” Cooper said.
