Sweepstakes winners in the contest included Galveston County Daily News, Division 2 dailies; Marshall News Messenger, Division 3 dailies; the Fayette County Record, Division 4 semiweeklies; Panola Watchman, Division 5 semiweeklies;  Hill Country News Weekender, Division 6 weeklies; The Liberty Hill Independent, Division 7 weeklies; Post Signal, Pilot Point, Division 8 weeklies; and the Burnet Bulletin, Division 9 weeklies. In addition to the eight sweepstakes awards, 118 first-place plaques were awarded, along with 472 first- through fourth-place certificates.

Going forward, the TPA annual meeting will be held in the summer. To accommodate that change, the contest is also changing. The next contest will be a transition back to a calendar-year event. Therefore, the contest period for the next BNC will be Sept. 1, 2020 through Dec. 31, 2021, with the entry period in February 2022 and the next awards presentation at the 2022 convention.
