We Publish every Sunday, Tuesday and Thursday covering four schools in Lamar County and track sports in parts of neighboring Red River, Delta and Fannin counties. We also produce an annual high school football magazine to open the fall high school football season. Experience writing sports is required and inDesign pagination skills would help, but a bright writer can pick up inDesign basics quickly with guidance.
Wharton County Newspapers has an immediate opening for full-time news reporters.
The ideal candidate is writer who can contribute dynamic feature stories in addition to covering straight news. Photographic and social media skills are a big plus. Knowledge of InDesign software and Photoshop is helpful, but can be taught.
