South Texas Press convention, awards presentation go online

South Texas Press Association opted for a virtual convention this year.
Members gathered for an online meeting Aug. 7. It included a two-part program by Editor & Publisher magazine publisher Mike Blinder, a business meeting and awards presentation.
Blinder’s program included a news session on the topic of “We profit when we focus on what we do best” and an advertising session on the topic of “Taking it to the street: Actionable takeaways you can use immediately to make sizable gains to your top line.”
New officers installed at the meeting include Regina Keilers, chairman; Dan Parker, president; Manuel Azocar III, vice president; and Melissa Perner, second vice president. 
Next year the STPA convention will be April 15-17, 2021 in Uvalde.
