Shabaz returns to NE Texas as group manager for MCM

SULPHUR SPRINGS - After serving as group manager in South Texas and with a start-up working to revitalize five newspapers in New Mexico, Dave Shabaz has returned to Northeast Texas as group manager for the Sulphur Springs News-Telegram, Mount Pleasant Tribune, The Steel County Bee in Daingerfield and The Pittsburg Gazette.

He announced his return in a column published in the News-Telegram.

Over the course of his career, Shabaz has worked in several states and in almost every aspect of newspapers, including home delivery, classified and advertising. In addition to community newspapers, he has experience with major dailies in his home state of California and in Arizona. He first joined the News-Telegram in 2020.
