Registration deadline nears for convention, trade show

Registration deadline is nearing for TPA’s 2021 Convention & Trade Show scheduled June 10-12 at the Embassy Suites by Hilton Denton Convention Center.
Hotel reservation information and registration forms are available online at Deadline for convention registration and hotel reservations is May 26.
The event, postponed from January, will feature a wide variety of informative sessions, the Texas Newspaper Hall of Fame 2021 induction ceremony, TPA awards and awards in the Texas Better Newspaper Contest.
The registration fee for the three-day event is $275 for all members. Due to increasing expenses, free convention registration can no longer be extended to ad network participants.
However, the TPA board voted to continue providing one free two-night hotel stay to newspapers that participate in the ad network.
Full registration includes the trade show, Hall of Fame luncheon, contest awards brunch, all meals, sessions and hospitality events.
Single-event registration of $75 per person per event is available for the Hall of Fame luncheon on Friday and the awards brunch on Saturday.
A pre-convention bonus session, Adding Value to Your Newspaper, kicks off events at 4:30 p.m. Thursday, June 10, followed by the trade show reception, sponsored by eType Services. In addition to the vendor booths, the reception gives convention attendees a first look at the many items in the annual silent auction benefiting the Texas Center for Community Journalism at Tarleton State University.
The trade show and silent auction will be open again Friday morning, June 11, until shortly before noon, when winners in the silent auction will be announced.
The Hall of Fame luncheon, sponsored by Explore Branson, begins at 11:45 a.m. and will feature induction ceremonies for the four new honorees.
Following the luncheon, general sessions are scheduled throughout the afternoon Friday and Saturday morning, June 12.
