2009-10 Terry Collier Fredericksburg Standard Radio Post

terrycollier08Terry Collier was elected president of the Texas Press Association on June 20, 2009, at the group’s 130th Summer Convention in Austin. Collier succeeds Roy Robinson, publisher of The Graham Leader, who became chairman of the board. Collier is publisher of the Fredericksburg Standard Radio Post, a Hill Country weekly newspaper founded in 1907. He has served as president of the firm since 1988 and publisher since 2003. His predecessor, Art Kowert, who worked at the newspaper for more than 60 years, also served as president of Texas Press Association in 1953-54.

Other officers include: Bob Brincefield, publisher, Brownwood Bulletin, first vice president; Chad Ferguson, publisher, The Banner Press Newspaper, Columbus, second vice president; and Russel Skiles, publisher, Lamesa Press Reporter, treasurer.

The TPA membership also elected to three-year board terms: Greg Shrader, publisher, Lufkin Daily News, and Sue Elizondo, editor, Pleasanton Express.

Collier appointed eight publishers to complete the TPA board: Sandra Aven, Plainview Daily Herald; Debbie Aylesworth, The Canyon News; Roger Estlack, Clarendon Enterprise; Brandi Guy, Thorndale Champion; Hank Hargrave, Normangee Star; Randy Mankin, Eldorado Success; Danny Reneau, Silsbee Bee; and Cyndy Slovak- Barton, Hays Free Press, Kyle.
