Alice Echo News-Journal switches to digital printing

ALICE - The Alice Echo News-Journal has become a tabloid print product as part of owner CherryRoad Media’s use of digital printing.

“We are excited to announce that the print edition of Alice Echo News-Journal is getting a brand-new look and feel thanks to the latest advancements in digital printing. This transformation means sharper images, richer colors, and an even better reading experience – all while maintaining the quality community journalism you rely on every day,” Jeremy Gulban, CherryRoad CEO, explained.

A Q&A for readers published in August noted that digital printing reduces waste because it eliminates the need for printing plates and excess copies.

The frequency of publication remains the same and the change did not affect subscriptions or delivery, officials said.

Printing changes announced at Stamford and Haskell Star

STAMFORD - Publisher Audra Arendal announced some changes at the Stamford and Haskell Star.

A few weeks earlier, the front pages were combined into a single newspaper while providing separate sections for Stamford and Haskell.

Arendal said the newspaper had to find a new source for printing after the company they had worked with recently closed their Lubbock location.

“I was able to secure a new printing option,” she wrote in a column to readers. “Although printing costs are higher, this arrangement allows us to keep the newspaper in circulation. To help manage expenses, we will now publish a single-section newspaper rather than two sections.”

She expressed appreciation to readers and advertisers for their support of the community newspaper.
