JESSIE FRAUSTO

DUMAS – Jessie Frausto, 67, longtime staff member of the Dumas News Press, died Aug. 30.

A native of Plainview, Frausto was a 1975 graduate of Dumas High School.

He began working full-time for the News-Press in July 1989. He was named circulation manager in 1990. He was instrumental in starting the local Newspaper in Education program which is still going strong today. He served as circulation manager for many years before moving to South Texas. He returned to Dumas in 2011 and returned to the News-Press in a different capacity — an advertising sales representative. He served in that role until his death.

He is survived by his three sisters, as well as numerous nieces, nephews, other family members

A rosary was recited on Sept. 7 at Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic Church, immediately followed by the funeral mass with Father Ron Matthews as celebrant. Interment followed at Dumas Cemetery under the arrangements of Beeson-Morrison Funeral Directors.
