New hires, promotions and other employment news reported by Texas newspapers and published in the December 2024 edition of the Texas Press Messenger.
MARSHALL – Timothy Stuckey has joined the staff of The Marshall News Messenger as a staff reporter.
Stuckey, based in Longview, brings an extensive amount of experience in both photography and journalism, accompanied by his commitment to strong visual storytelling. He covers the schools beat for the newspaper.
Stuckey, who previously owned his own photography business, is experienced in various photographic styles, including event photography and editorial portraits.
“I am excited to join The Marshall News Messenger and capture the stories and events of Marshall and its communities,” Stuckey said, “Photography is a fantastic way of connecting with others, and I’m eager to capture great moments and share them with the community.”
His journalism background includes work as a managing editor, reporter and photographer of the The Flare, where he gained experience in news production, photography and editing while a student at Kilgore College.
Additionally, he served as the executive editor of the Flare’s student magazine, working in collaboration with a diverse set of students and instructors. He also earned recognition for his work with the newspaper and magazine, including first-place awards in narrative reporting, photography and production design from the Texas Intercollegiate Press Association.
He also worked as a phlebotomist for several years at White Oak Family Medicine.
