KERRVILLE – Former Kerrville Daily Times Advertising Director Jennifer McCullough has returned to the newspaper as publisher.

She succeeded Carlina Villalpando Daugherty, who left to relocate to Abilene with her husband, Dr. Stephen Daugherty.

The changes were announced by Neice Bell, vice president of Southern Newspapers Inc. and former publisher of The Times. “Jennifer’s knowledge of the newspaper business and of Kerrville in general will be a big asset to the community,” she said. Bell also praised Villalpando Daugherty’s contributions to the Times over her career with the newspaper.

After a brief move back to Pennsylvania, McCullough returned to the Times as advertising director and then later, she served as publisher of the Sulphur Springs News-Telegram, then owned by Southern Newspapers, Inc., also the parent company of the Times.

McCullough said she is happy to return to the Hill Country and is looking forward to becoming active in the community.

Villalpando Daugherty first joined the Kerrville Times in 2004 as an intern. She worked as a reporter, features editor and managing editor before leaving the newspaper in 2014 to join the Tyler Morning Telegraph as managing editor. She returned to Kerrville in 2018 to assume the publisher position at the Times.
