Headliners Foundation releases rules, deadline for annual awards

The Headliners Foundation has announced the rules for the 2020 Showcase Awards and set the deadline for entries on March 8, 2021.
Showcase Awards recognize outstanding journalism that has made a significant impact on Texas government, public policy, culture or the conduct of a business, non-profit or other organization. Entries will be drawn from material submitted online and selected for display in the Showcase section of the Headliners Foundation website.
There is no entry fee. The Showcase Gold winning entry will receive a $2,000 cash prize to be distributed among up to five journalists. The Showcase Silver winner entry or entries will receive a $1,000 cash prize with distribution to up to five journalists.
Eligible submissions must be from a professional Texas-based news provider – print, broadcast or digital – that distributes at least monthly and that adheres to the highest journalistic principles. Also eligible are Texas-based journalists whose organizations have permanent news bureaus in Texas. Headliners Foundation reserves the right to determine who meets the criteria.
Work submitted must be originally published or aired between Jan. 1 and Dec. 31, 2020. 
Only three entries per news organization are permitted and each entry should have no more than ten stories or elements. Entires submitted should include accessible links to PDF images and/or online pages.
Judges will consider a broad range of journalism including investigative stories, long-form pieces, series or packages dealing with key issues or unique projects that engage the audience. Judges will evaluate the impact, thoroughness and innovation of research, reporting and presentation.
