Elizabeth Engelhardt named Herald-Zeitung publisher Felicia Frazar, Delando Moultrie promoted in Seguin
NEW BRAUNFELS – Elizabeth Engelhardt will succeed Neice Bell as publisher of the New Braunfels Herald-Zeitung.
Engelhardt is also publisher of the Seguin Gazette, a role she will continue.
Engelhardt started her newspaper career at the Herald-Zeitung as an advertising account manager in 2013, working with Bell. She said this is a full-circle for her career as she takes over for Bell, who is retiring May 29. Engelhardt said that throughout her career, Bell has demonstrated what leadership means and helped prepare her for this next chapter.
A resident of New Braunfels since 2007, Engelhardt transferred to the Seguin Gazette in 2016 before becoming publisher of that newspaper in 2018.
Noting that she “is leaving the Herald-Zeitung in good hands,” Bell noted Engelhardt is an “extremely hard worker, dedicated and fair.”
Lissa Walls, CEO of Southern Newspapers, Inc., and SNI President Leonard Woolsey joined Bell in praising Engelhardt’s contributions to both newspapers while taking on community service roles in both Comal and Guadalupe counties.
Engelhardt has served as chair of the Seguin Area Chamber of Commerce and president of the Seguin Rotary Club. She has also served on the boards of the Comal County United Way, Seguin Public Library, the Seguin-Guadalupe Heritage Museum and other groups.
In Seguin, Managing Editor Felicia Frazar will assume a new role as general manager. Assistant Managing Editor Delando Moultrie will take over as managing editor.
Frazar, a Seguin native, joined the staff in 2003 and has served as the Gazette’s managing editor since 2019 after having served as staff photographer, staff writer and news editor.
Having worked alongside Frazar for a decade, Engelhardt said she made the right choice.
“Felicia truly is the heart and soul of The Seguin Gazette,” she said. “Her passion for our community, her dedication to our team and her commitment to excellence have never gone unnoticed. This promotion is incredibly well deserved and I am so proud to see her step into this leadership role. I have no doubt she will continue to elevate our newspaper and make an even greater impact in this new position.”
Moultrie joined The Seguin Gazette in 2019 as assistant managing editor, where he has immersed himself in the role. He has a lengthy career in journalism, joining the Southern Newspapers family in April 2011 as a reporter for the Herald-Zeitung before making the move to Seguin.
“Delondo has built incredible relationships throughout our community and has become a trusted and respected representative of our newspaper,” Engelhardt said.
“His leadership, integrity and commitment to strong local journalism have made a lasting impact on our newsroom. This promotion to managing editor is very well deserved, and I am confident he will continue to lead with excellence in this new role.”
