Dozier appointed publisher of Kingsville Record
KINGSVILLE – Dylan Dozier has been named publisher of the Kingsville Record, returning to the community after most recently serving as editor of the Beeville Bee-Picayune and the Karnes Countywide.
“Dylan’s work consistently reflects a commitment to community-focused journalism, amplifying local voices, spotlighting important civic developments and supporting the people and events that bring neighbors together,” said Brad Womack, chairman of the Kingsville Area Industrial Development Foundation. “His deep roots in regional news, along with his experience working with independent newspapers, have earned him the respect of readers and community leaders alike.”
Dozier spent the past four years as editor of the two newspapers, where he covered local government, sports, education, community events and regional issues affecting South Texas readers.
He also previously served as editor of the Live Oak and McMullen County Progress and the News of San Patricio.
Dozier helped move the needle on digital audience growth by modernizing news content and launching the company’s first social media monetization initiative.
“The Kingsville Record has a talented and dedicated team, and I’m thankful to be stepping into a newsroom with such a strong sense of purpose,” Dozier said. “I’m optimistic about what we can accomplish together as we continue serving the community.”
Beyond his newsroom leadership, Dozier has been active in community service, serving as an executive board member of the Bee County Chamber of Commerce and mentoring high school students through the Joe Barnhart Scholarship Foundation.
Womack said Dozier’s leadership aligns with the newspaper’s mission moving forward.
“Dylan is an award-winning writer and a true journalist, and we are excited to see the Kingsville Record continue to grow under his leadership.”
