Car accident claims life of Cornerstone Publications owner Natalie Spencer

Cornerstone Publications owner Natalie Elizabeth Spencer, 53, of Rio Medina, died following an automobile accident in the early evening of April 2.
She was born April 11, 1966 in Houston, the daughter of William E. “Bill” Youngs and Martha Eloise Hanby Youngs.
She graduated from Medina Valley High School in 1985. She loved to play golf and was the first female golfer at MVHS. 
She attended the University of Texas at San Antonio to study nursing before deciding to become a journalist. She became a reporter then editor and after years of experience, she became owner and publisher of the Castroville News Bulletin, Medina Valley Times and the Lytle Leader News. Her passion and love was to help and grow small town community papers.
On Dec. 19, 1987, at Lackland Air Force Base in San Antonio she married Jerry Spencer and he survives her.
She is also survived by two children, two grandchildren andnumerous relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
The family will have a private memorial service at Tondre-Guinn Funeral Home. Interment will be held at Fort Sam Houston National Cemetery in San Antonio at a later date. To see full obituary information, click here.
