MAEBETH McLAUGHLIN REYNOLDS
LUBBOCK – Maebeth McLaughlin Reynolds, who with her husband Jim Reynolds published newspapers in Lockney and Crosbyton, died Jan. 30. She was 87.
A native of Plainview, she graduated from Lockney High School in 1956 and later from Watson Business School in Plainview.
She married Jim Reynolds in 1958 in Lockney where they lived until 1972. They also lived in Crosbyton and Tulia. They were owners and publishers of The Lockney Beacon and Crosbyton Review newspapers, which won many awards for excellence. They were also part owners of Blanco Offset Printing in Floydada and Brazos Offset Printing in Slaton.
She was a member of First Baptist Church in Tulia. She was also a Girl Scout leader, member of the Red Cross Board and of the Daughters of the American Revolution.
Her husband preceded her in death in 2018. She is survived by two children, five grandchildren, seven great grandchildren and other relatives.
Services were held Feb. 4 at Southcrest Baptist Church in Lubbock. Interment followed in Plainview Memorial Park.
