Texas Press Association elected Glenn Sedam as 97th president in June 1974, the same year he was president of Texas Gulf Coast Press Association.

He became owner and publisher of the Bay City Daily Tribune in 1958.

Sedam began his newspaper career in the advertising department of his hometown newspaper the Monongehela (Pa.) Daily Herald in 1936, advancing to ad director the next year.

His next job was as ad director of the McKeesport (Pa.) Daily News. Later he served in the same position on the Clarksburg (W. Va.) Exonent-Telegram. He was also business manager of the Gadsden (Ala.) Times before joining the sales staff of Southern Newspapers Inc.

Sedam is a graduate of Duquesne (Pa.) University’s School of Advertising and Journalism.

Sedam married Dorothy Gillingham and they had four children.

He was president of South Texas Press Association in 1984-85.
