Dr. W.M. Yandell, third president from the Seguin Times, became a member of the association at the second meeting held in May 1881.

He was elected president in 1883. His brother, Dr. Dave Yandell was a famous surgeon in General Robert E. Lee’s army. He was directly responsible for the election of John Ireland, his fellow-townsman, to the governorship of Texas.

Dr. Yandell moved from Seguin to El Paso in the early 1890s. He died in 1900.
