The Herald-Zeitung, New Braunfels' daily newspaper since 1852, is accepting applications for a printing press operator.

This position involves operating a Goss Community offset web press and related press and pre-press equipment, performing general press make-ready and light maintenance. Position also requires setting ink, register, water, to satisfactory levels.

Candidate must be able to work well with others, understand and follow instruction, communicate well with co-workers and supervisors. This position requires candidate to stand for long periods, climb and descend ladders, possess the physical stamina to roll, turn and load 700-pound newsprint rolls.

The ideal candidate would have some previous printing experience on similar equipment and knowledgeable in basic printing techniques and procedures.

Successful candidate must be self-motivated, be able to work a flexible work schedule. Must have a valid driver’s license, and proof of insurance, be able to lift 50 lbs. Must be over 18 years of age, safety oriented and follow company policy.

This is a full-time position with competitive pay and benefits. Successful applicant must pass pre-employment screening.
