The Fort Bend Herald filed a lawsuit Friday in district court to force the Fort Bend County Sheriff’s Department to release the name of the complainant in an investigation into allegations of attempted bribery made by two Lamar Consolidated Independent School District trustees. “The Herald filed this lawsuit because information which should have been provided under an open records request was denied,” said Bill Hartman, chairman of the Fort Bend Herald.
