Cop pleads guilty to threats


DALLAS — A former Gladewater police officer accused of threatening a Dallas Morning News reporter with a shotgun in 2006 pleaded guilty to unlawful restraint and was sentenced to one year probation.

Under the plea deal, Bryan Naismith, who was fired by the Gladewater police department for a confrontation with reporter Dave Micheals, will surrender his peace officer license and take anger management classes and perform 80 hours of community service.
