Morton changes hands

MORTON — Leroy Wilson sold the Morton Tribune to Danny and Chris Woolam effective Oct. 1. Wilson, who owned the newspaper for the last seven years, retained ownership of the Sudan Beacon and will continue as its publisher.

Chris Woolam will serve as publisher, editor and ad director. This is the couple’s first newspaper to own. They did not anticipate making any immediate changes.

Lorenzo, Ralls papers merge

RALLS — The Lorenzo Examiner and Ralls Reporter-News merged into one publication Oct. 4 under the new name Crosby County Reporter-Examiner.

Owner John Valentine said the move would give subscribers to both newspapers countywide coverage in a single publication and maximize advertisers’ expenses.

The Lorenzo Examiner had been published for 16 years and was a TPA member. The Ralls Reporter-News was published for the last 11 years but was not a paid-circulation newspaper.
