“Set Your Course: Newspaper First & Next” is the theme for the 60th Midwinter Conference & Trade Show at The Westin Galleria, located in the heart of Houston’s premier shopping and dining district.

The Galleria has more than 350 shops and a newly remodeled ice skating rink. The Westin is attached to the shopping district so guests can take advantage of the amenities with just a few steps outside the hotel.

The conference is Jan. 18-20, 2007.

Eligible TexSCAN members again this year will receive a free conference package including free registration, free conference meals and two nights in the conference hotel (Thursday and Friday only) for one person from each newspaper. The deadline to take advantage of the TexSCAN package is Tuesday, Jan. 2, 2007.

Other TPA members and associates have until Wednesday, Jan. 3, 2007, to make hotel reservations at the $115 a night room rate. Conference registration deadline is Friday, Jan. 12, 2007.
