ObituariesCarrall BrownCarrall Truett Brown, 89, died April 22, 2005, in San Diego, Calif. In the 1970s and 1980s Brown wrote a column for the Breckenridge American. Larry B. HallLarry B. Hall died April 10, 2005, after succumbing to injuries received during an early morning fire at his residence in Muleshoe. Hall was the owner and publisher of the Muleshoe Journal and the Bailey County Journal until selling to Scot and Lisa Stinnett in 1994. He came to Muleshoe in September 1961 when he purchased the Journal. In 1963, he began the Sunday Bailey County Journal. Hall continued as publisher of both newspapers until selling the company. According to the Muleshoe Police Department, a dispatcher received a 911 call from the Hall residence around 5:30 a.m. After arriving, an officer and neighbor found Larry Hall and his wife Sammye attempting to exit the burning residence. Della KingDella Glover King, 68, died April 28, 2005, after a brief illness. She and husband, John T. King, owned the Devil’s River News in Sonora before moving to Georgetown in 1972 and operating a printing business. Diane MueckDiane Lewis Mueck, 48, wife of San Marcos Daily Record publisher Mike Mueck died April 26, 2005. Mueck graduated from Texas A&M University in 1980 and spent the next 20 years as an advertising executive and publisher in Texas and Alabama. She is survived by her husband of 23 years; two sons; her parents; three brothers; and many aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews. Diane MurrayDiane Murray, 44, died March 27, 2005, in McAllen. She was a former San Angelo Standard-Times metro editor and worked at the newspaper from 1986 until 2004.
