TPA offers free on-demand, online training

Texas Press Association offers ample training opportunities for member newspapers and the best aspect is it’s all FREE!

Here is a sampling of the on-demand and online training TPAoffers members. Newspapers are encouraged to take advantage of these valuable member services.

TPA Mobile Lab

The TPA Mobile Lab is a novel on-demand concept.

Members contact instructor Fred Anders to set up dates in their area for hands-on training in the latest software solutions.

The training is free if at least three separate member newspapers attend.

TPA Online Academy

Free online computer training through www.digiversity.tv covers the latest software applications and newspaper production. Registration code:

Free online journalism seminars are offered through the University of Texas School of Journalism — Writing the News Story and Headline Writing (next class April 4-29, space still available. See page 11 for more information.)

TPA On-Demand Training

TPA members can schedule a workshop when they want and at a time that is convenient yet maximizes their staff attendance and ensures local participation.

The training is free if the participation requirements are met (usually 20 people attending from at least three different newspapers.)
