ObituariesJeannine FearingJeannine Lucille Young Fearing, 57, died Dec. 30, 2004 in Eagle Lake, where she had been a resident for more than 22 years and was publisher of the Eagle Lake Headlight. She met John Fearing while she was working at Memorial Southwest in Houston. They were later married in Minnesota where they resided for almost two years. They moved to Lockhart to purchase an interest in the Lockhart Post-Register. After only a few months they decided to move to Eagle Lake when they purchased the Headlight. Jeannine and John Fearing later divorced and Jeannine Fearing continued to run the Headlight as owner/editor. John Fearing is executive director of Arizona Newspaper Association. She was diagnosed with breast cancer in the spring of 2001. She never missed an issue of the Headlight, because as she said “they will miss their news.” In lieu of flowers memorial donations can be made to the Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Foundation or to the El Campo Hospice (a branch of Houston Hospice). Lola ReadLola Read, 90, died Dec. 24, 2004 at Christus St. Elizabeth Hospital after a prolonged illness. Her husband Bobby Read owned The Silsbee Bee with his brother David Read for many years, starting the joint partnership in 1946. Lola Read was a fifth-grade teacher for 29 years in the Silsbee school district. Rommyn SkipperRommyn Blair Skipper, 37, died Dec. 18, 2004 of brain cancer. He was city editor of the Star-News of Wilmington, N.C., and a former copy editor at the Odessa American.
