366 attend Midwinter Conference

Jan. 20-22 event nets 160 newspapers

DALLAS — Attendance at the 58th Midwinter Conference & Trade Show continued its successful upward trend with 366 people and 160 newspapers represented Jan. 20-22 at the Hyatt Regency DFW Airport.

That’s 35 more people and 27 more newspapers than last year’s conference in Houston.

Thirty-nine of the attendees were “first-timers,” people attending their first TPA convention.

This year’s conference, themed “Newspaper Synergy 2005,” also saw the largest trade show to date with 60 exhibitors. The online TPA Buyer’s Guide has links to all the exhibitors.

The Texas Newspaper Foundation Silent Auction also continued to grow and raised $8,773 for continuing education programs for Texas journalists.

The 59th Midwinter Conference & Trade Show will return to the Hyatt Regency DFW Jan. 19-21, 2006.
