The Hood County News is seeking a passionate, capable, dedicated reporter.
This 136-year-old newspaper traces its roots back to the grandson of David Crockett and is historically one of the most awarded newspapers in Texas. We are seeking a reporter who can help us continue our mission of local community journalism and to be part of the team seeking to create the best products in the industry.
Responsibilities could include a wide variety of news and features ranging from local schools and community events, county and city government, and community activities.
The successful candidate should be comfortable in conducting in-person, virtual and phone interviews, be well-versed in AP style and have basic photography skills.

Drivers’ license, auto insurance and good driving record are required.
