The Kerrville Daily Times is seeking an assertive, motivated general assignments reporter. The paper's award-winning staff covers Kerr County and Kerrville - a thriving community built along the banks of the Guadalupe River and nestled amid the beautiful Texas Hill Country.

The ideal candidate would have an undergraduate degree in journalism or a related field and at least some experience reporting for a newspaper.

Recent college graduates with solid clips from internships or published work at good university newspapers also will be considered.

The position entails covering a variety of subjects and occasionally will require weekend and holiday work.

The Kerrville Daily Times was named the Texas Associated Press Managing Editor's Newspaper of the year for 2018 and won sweepstakes at the Texas Press Association convention this year. The talented staff strives to publish one of the best community papers in the Lone Star State.

Kerrville is roughy 45 minutes from San Antonio and less than two hours from Austin.

The Austin American-Statesman is hiring an editor for two of its award-winning weekly publications – the Westlake Picayune and the Lake Travis View. We’re looking for someone with great editorial planning and management skills. The editor would work with a community news reporter and freelancer writers to produce general news and features, photos and video for the print publications and their websites. The ideal candidate would be deeply sourced in the community and juggle editing with reporting and writing. The right person for the job has an eye for detail, as they would be responsible for editing copy, writing and editing headlines for stories, and proofing pages. This position also includes a responsibility to cover breaking news events and take photographs and video. This job demands a digital-first approach to breaking, daily and enterprise news coverage, including ensuring stories have photographs and/or video to provide visual interest to the newspaper and its digital and social media sites. We’re looking for someone who works well with others, who is an effective communicator and who would collaborate with American-Statesman newsroom staff and outside contacts to accomplish our journalism goals in a productive and constructive work environment.
