Community Service

DAILY

1. Beaumont Enterprise. Kids Having Kids: In-depth reporting, good journalism. Donating the money to the cause was community service. Good job.

2. Baytown Sun. Literacy: Excellent effort. Coverage of literacy problems is good journalism. The newspaper staff committing time to help is good community service.

3. Waxahachie Daily Light. The War Years: This type of section reinforces the role of the newspaper as a documentation of history. The benefits are probably even greater to your young readers than to your older readers.

4. Mount Pleasant Daily Tribune. Good Samaritan in Need: Good way to support your community.

WEEKLY / SEMIWEEKLY

1. Garrison in the News. Garrison Heritage: Great effort and community involvement.

2. Quanah Tribune-Chief. Main Street Quanah: The coverage is good journalism. Helping prepare and organize the application process is involvement beyond the newsroom. Great job.

3. Andrews County News. Andrews Proud: Great beyond-the-newsroom support of an important county project.

4. Hico News Review. Support Hico. Good support of worthwhile community project — donating advertising and layout.
