From the Texas Center for Community Journalism:
Normally, the Texas Center for Community Journalism at TCU specializes in workshops for community journalism, consulting and research on the latest developments in the field.
But they’ve branched out.
The Center has now produced its first music video, The Journalism Blues, available at http://digital.community-journalism.net/journalism-blues.
Tommy Thomason, director of the Center, said the video “deals with the issues community journalists face every day.”
The lyrics were written by Fort Worth journalist Donna Darovich and recorded by the South Moudy Blues, a blues group made up of TCU Schieffer School of Journalism faculty.
“This is probably our first and last music video,” Thomason said, “but we wanted to produce something that reflects the real world of community journalism. Now journalism has its own blues song.”
