The 2013 Texas Newspaper Directory needs a cover!

In the past, TPA staff in Austin have chosen the winner of the Directory photo contest and assembled the cover. This year, members will design the cover and choose the winner.

Not only will graphic artists and designers (in addition to photographers) have the chance to participate, members will have the opportunity to go online and vote on the winning cover.

The directory is distributed to TPA members and associates across the country, and the winning designer will receive a profile in TPA’s Texas Press Messenger. We know how talented our members are, and this is the perfect opportunity for one lucky Texas newspaper and creative staff to get the credit they deserve.

The deadline to submit your cover is Oct. 22, so get designing. Members will go online to texaspress.com Oct. 25 through Nov. 1 to vote on the winning cover. We’ll be using a Wufoo online registration form for voting purposes. Members will be required to submit a name, job title, newspaper name and email address to vote, so TPA staff can verify that each person only casts one vote.

If TPA receives a large number of entries, the top three finalists will be presented for a second round of judging. The winning cover will be announced on texaspress.com after all the votes have been counted. The Texas Newspaper Directory will be published and distributed in January 2013.
