The Texas Press Association Golden 50 Awards honor men and women who have displayed exemplary service and selfless contributions to journalism for 50 or more years.
TPA presented the first Golden 50 Award in 1963. In the early years of the award, a certificate was presented to each honoree. Today, recipients receive both a plaque and a special Golden 50 booklet.
This year's recipients will be honored at a luncheon ceremony on Friday, June 17 during TPA's 132nd Annual Summer Convention in Rockwall.
